Leslie McDonell: In Concert

Talk about Demos who do Things!   Get this.

Early in April of this year, Leslie (McDonell )Tchaikovsky put on a show!  She had been working with her voice teacher, May Kavalero, at the Jazz School in Berkeley, California since 2009 and she wanted to showcase her work.  She rented the hall at the Jazz School, hired a jazz trio, invited friends, even charged admission and on the afternoon of April 6 performed for over an hour to a packed house.  The audience included her classmate Marcia Marvin and partner Mark, and her sister Stephanie ('59).  Leslie sang songs from the repertoire of the '30's and '40's that included "Something Cool", two Brazilian songs in Portuguese and even a song she wrote!  Talk about doing things!!

Leslie was kind enough to invite her classmate Marcia to join her on one song, "Somebody Goofed", a song they had sung in grade school.  She included her in this otherwise solo event because Marcia was the the first person she had ever sung with just for the fun of it.  And now, from the look and sound of things, she is having a whole lot of fun.  I hope this wasn't her last concert.

Way to go, Leslie!!
